Storystock has been thrilled to work with the innovative Kings Place team to provide productions and ‘experiences’ for families over Christmas and beyond. We produced a number of Christmas festive days incorporating shows with Chris Riddell illustrating The Little Prince, The Music House for Children’s The Snowman, BoxTale Soup Theatre company and Once Upon a Story Theatre. We look forward to working with them in the future.
Throughout lockdown we have been curating a programme of readings, drawalongs, creative writing masterclasses and poetry events with Riverside Studios for their Digital Dive In Virtual Space.
With contributors from Michael and Clare Morpurgo, Sophy Henn, Petr Horacek, Piers Torday, Rob Starling and lots more. Have a look on our YouTube channel for clips from the events.
Storystock enjoyed 4 years of programming and producing 3-day sell-out story festivals at The Bush Theatre from 2014 through to 2018. The programmes were packed with stellar line-ups including Michael Morpurgo, Judith Kerr, Lauren Child, Jan Blake, Joseph Coelho, and so many more. Workshops, author talks, story tents and treasure hunts.
More stories and half term fun in Hammersmith with workshops, talks and shows. Unforgettable appearances from the late John Burningham and Judith Kerr, wonderful madcap workshops from the Roald Dahl team of craziness, comic book and lego story workshops, animation stations, Michael Morpurgo’s Why the Whales Came and hours of fun and games.
Battersea Power Station
Storystock brought their circus of stories to the iconic Power Station at their newly developed theatre in the Circus Village. A one off appearance from Benedict Cumberbatch and Judith Kerr along with Ben Miller, trapeze artists and many others.
Easter at Omnibus in Clapham was home to the Storystock circus for 3 years with full 3 day programme of workshops, shows and talks. We loved every second of this fabulous community space.
Storystock has been a major part of the kids field at Wilderness festival since 2014 and brings our unique blend of stories, creativity and fun to kids and their families. We can’t wait to bring it all back again in 2021.
in 2014 Storystock worked with artist and writer Amy Gadney to create a bespoke audio guide to accompany the 4 month long exhibition – Pangaea – art from Africa and Latin America. We used the extraordinary works of art to produce a family Audio guide like no other. The children were taken through the exhibition while the characters from the paintings and sculptures talked to each other and the individual listener. It gave a highly unusual and fascinating perspective on the idea of narrative through any medium. A huge success.
Royal Opera House
Storystock was thrilled to be commission to be a part of the Myth Ignite Festival at the ROH in 2016. We curated a myth-based scavenger hunt around the Opera House and produced a number of story-shows and creative workshops.
Storystock’s first foray state-side this was a fabulous collaboration with Elizabeth Starkey and Isabella Rossellini at Isabella’s farm in Bellport Long Island USA. Elizabeth’s vision to create a family festival of stories was a perfect fit for Storystock to help advise on. We brought out our fairytale characters for performances in the woods by local acting group children, and assisted in the general production of the day. A delight all round.
Storystock produced a very special day of books and stories at Hinton Manor in Dorset. To raise awareness of the Eloise & Katie Memorial Trust we put on a day to remember. Collaborating with a whole host of local creatives the space was transformed into a magical world of stories. There were owls and falcons, dancing couples, dinosaurs being brought to life, magical mythical creatures, Michael Morpurgo’s Where My Wellies Take Me, cakes, costumes and all the fun of the fair.
Independent Schools Show
Storystock was asked to add a little bit of storytime fun to the hugely successful Independent Schools Show in Battersea Park. To accompany the comprehensive line-up of Independent Schools we offered an area to listen to stories, read books and try out a bit of writing of ones own. A fun addition to any programme.
Storystock’s 24 days of Christmas was an exciting immersive promenade performing programme we produced for Selfridges Store in Regents Street London. Comprised of 7 fairy-tales we brought Christmas stories to life throughout December in store.
